Three weeks off, it was time to disconnect, to put in order differents things, as university and so on. Visit friends, rest good and be fully charged to start in good way the new season.

Oficially on 28 of November 2016 I started to train for 2017, step by step and easily at the beginning to be in the same volume and intensity as the rest of the group of CAR Madrid in Christmas time. First days we made progesivelly everything, and at the beginning we took the mountain bike in order to the road bike, it is time to build up without hurries.

Comeback to our "circuits", Casa de Campo for running and mountain biking, El Pardo too, and keep progressing in volume in the swimming pool... all that is so easy when you have such a nice group like "Team Blume",

During Christmas is time to be with the family, but also is a good moment to increase volumes of swimming and bike, we are beginning to create a tradition doing the 100x100 meters in the pool in La Roda each year on 31 of December (and if that was not enough, after that my sister and me run in Cuenca "La Carrera del Pavo), during these dates we have the pleasure to host our New Zealand "mum", Kathy,  as she camed for visiting Spain and Portugal.

Nos ponemos serios  / We get serious

From the end of January to middle February the "team Blume" spend a training Camp in Mar de Pulpí (Almeria). In there we have the objective to reach higher volumes in the three segments, with a biggest attention to the bike, using the great weather, orography and good roads that this place offer us.

We received a great treatment from Mar de Pulpí staff, making us feel like at home, and not worry about all the lunches and dinners so they were great in La Geoda restaurant. There our day by day was basically swimming workout at 8am in Pulpí's pool (around 2h) then a good breakfast to ride between 2 and 3h by bike, lunch, rest time, and runningb workout plus some gym exercises to end the day.

After Mar de Pulpí stage, I travelled with my friend Ricardo to Lithuania, to take part in a training camp near Vilnius, in Dubingiai, organized by Triatlono Taure (with Mantas Marcinkevicius in the direction). It was from friday to sunday, and our role was to make each one a presentation (mine about my career in general, and Ricardo about some training issues). It was a great experience, even better when you see people really interested in what you are telling, and you feel valued like sportsman.

4/4 Fin de temporada a tope // Busy ending of season

After the trip to Río de Janeiro, full of nice moments and vibes, I came back to Madrid, where I have to get fit enough in 10 days to prepare Spanish elite Championship. To live Olympic Games as spectator (and brother) it is an unforgottable experience, but adding the visit to Rio and Iguazu, make the trip perfect.

Banyoles

In Banyoles was the Spanish elite triathlon Championship, always a race with a huge level, and my shape was not the required to "fight" here, so my swim was not good, and on bike I didn't feel bad ut a lack of collaboration in the group didn't allow me to make a better race, run was acceptable, finishing strong and good enough to qualify to Grand Prix Cofidis. In addition that weekend I meet my teammates in Italy in TD Rimini, which, in Banyoles, were 2º in Teams European Championship, with Sara Papais, Giulio Soldati, Giorgia Priarone and Premysl Svarc.

Cesenatico

Week after I travelled to Bolonia, to be picked up with Felix Duchamt, to go to Cesenatico and defend the colours of TD Rimini, there was already Premysl with his girlfriend, then we have a dinner with the "souls" of the team Alessandro Alessandri and Romina Ridolfi, I have to admit that the feeling there was great really like a family, and I have a great relation with Felix from begining. Day after we ride with some of the italian teammartes, and Prem and me went to the medical exam. On friday's afternoon arrive the rest of teammates, Zsanett Bragmayer, Giorgia Priarone, Giulio Soldati, Alberto Chiodo... Dinner all together and a pleasant enviroment the night before race. I was nervous but motivated, I had a hard start because of my number, but didn't swim bad and go out in the group of Duchampt, we work, and I pushed as hard as I could, and we get closer to front and second group, then I suffered a lot running, but I felt happy for me and for teammates with our races. After a great dinner with team I decided to race day after too, as Zsanett will do also, in an olympic distance race, the worst thing was to wake up at 6 am hahahaha, but the plan was not bad, race, beach, eat good and rest. Race was good, I swam good enough to catch Butturini (also making double) and we work on bike to let the 10k just for us, then he had something more running, and at the end I suffered, then I was happy for me and for Zsanett who was second after Gaia Peron, the post-raceice cream and lucnh with Alessandro was so so good. A little rest and he picked up us to visit San Marino and have a fantastic dinner (more and better food) in Rimini. I felt really good all that weekend with a family, because that was the true feeling. ¡Cheers for TD Rimini!

The Spanish Team Triathlon Championship it is always a beautiful race, without the normal pressure on you, and where you enjoy with your teammates, a good swim let me in a group with Samer, Petsov, Aguayo... and having Kevin in front, solo (he is teammate), I was not going to do any work on bike, then we where a big big bunch in T2, I made really good T2 and a decent run for a top20, and an enjoyable weekend in Asturias.

This race was a race that I compete with no pressure at all, with with a big motivation and wanting to have fun, it was the first from 5 races each weekend, and I hope to be getting better shape in each one of them. A huge level, not a bad swim for me but I was in the second group, and I felt strong on bike, plus with the help of Cuchillo, and Dapena (after his fall) we manage to just catch front group in T2, then a stomachache didn't allow me to run good, but anyway I was satisfied with my performance.

Sapri

The Gran Prix final in Italy, in Sapri, a funny great weekend in the south of Italy. Zsanett, Felix and me arrive on thursday to Napoli, there we took a van to drive till Sapri (thanks to Felix for be the chofer of the weekend), we arrive tired and hungry, but the pizzas we ate in arriving were really really great. On friday easy training, the three things, and enjoying the swim in the sea or the ride over the cliffs. On the race day, we were watching the girls, that they made a great race, then was our turn, and I was really happy with my swim, starting side to side to Hofer, and going out of the wather with him, Ogy and Felix, and in less than one lap I was in front group, then I had a try to make a break with Richi, but I had no power, even if the try was so good,in the run I couldn't give what I have because of a cough I had from Pulpí, so it was chest pain and couldn't breathe normally. After the race we still train something, 2h bike with Prem and Felix and then running 40'with some teammates. Celebration dinner, 2º male team in the Grand Prix league and 1º female :) and then it was about to be a party, but there was a tiramisu "consolation" :D. on sunday easy swim and bike, and trip to Napoli, I said bye (for few days only) to Zsanett and Felix, and I enjoy one more day visiting Pompei and Napoli, that is really a place to comeback.

Really pleasant to Triathlon Duathlon Rimini, a real family and the best behaviour to me I ever received in any team.

Tongyeong

Enorme.

Curious situation I said bye one sunday in Napoli (Italy) and meet again the same friends three days later in Korea, in the other corner of the world... We start the trip from Madrid, Uxío Abuín, Ricardo Hernández and me, it was long but with their company was all time fun. Madrid-London, London-Seoul, Seoul-Busan (changing the airport but really easy way, and even with time to taste the real Korean cuisine) and then a transfer from Busan to Tongyeong. Arrive to hotel, Uxio and me took the room and then went to the briefing, and a fantastic dinner with the rest of triathletes (that is really nice to meet them again). On friday was time to check the circuits and relax before race day. The race day started cloudy but I felt great. I warm up good, dry myself change to the trisuit and put the warming cream (because I knew that in a cold day with 20'2ºC water I need to be extra carefull to do not get cold). Race started and I did good start, swimming near Petsov, and then in the buoy with Richi and Felix, I was in good position, but 150m moreless till the end I felt totally cold, frozen, and I lost contact with the group, a pity because I was just few seconds back of the last two options to be in the group, Hofer and De Cuyper. I accept situation and with the help, mostly of Tobin-White but of Billy Gordon too, we maintain a good pace in our group, then an acceptable run, that anyway I finish happy knowing about the fantastic victory of Uxío.

The week between Tongyeong and Miyazaki was really funny and with no stress (just only the day we fly from Busan to Miyazazaki throw Osaka), training but easy, and discovering a lot of things, and a lot of people from the tri-world. Tasting the typicall food, and celebrating my birthday in a different way, surrounded by nice friends in a far far place hehehehe, but it was pretty nice, and in general all the experience there was awesome.

Miyazaki

After the trip, in Miyazaki, we have to share a really tiny room for Uxio and me, but in other hand the food was better than in Korea, and it was not so expensive as expected. With not a lot to do before the race, more than check the circuits, swim in the sea. This time water and weather were warmer, and I felt really good swimming, but anyway it was a hard swim, which broke the race in small groups, and I was in one in the back , but I was happy with my swim, then on bike i felt really strong, and I catch at the beginning Pertl and Kiraly, to join later Felix, Mcdowell and a japanese, we work good together, but the situation of the race was the worst for us, because with two big groups chasing each other in the front we couldn't fight. In the run I was really tired, no energy but I managed to find that energy and make a decent run, so quite happy with my race and again with the double of Uxio... In the coming back Uxio, Richi and me had the opportunity to visit Seoul for a day, really nice city even with the cold, that the weather was.

Agadir

It was a little crazy to go to to agadir after comeback from Korea-Japan, and we decided it there hehe, but it was a good opportunity, and I felt great, so it was good idea. There we arrive to Marrakech to take the transfer, Melina, Camila, Zuriñe, Kevin, Zsanett and me, we arrive late but we had the friday to rest. Day before the three sports, briefind and relax before last race of the season. The boys and girls races where near together, erly at 9 am, this time (remembering Tongyeong) I decided not to warm up in the water, and it was good, I swam good, first lap in the group, then in the beach turn we lose contact with head but manage to reduce it till 40", so in one first stronmg lap on bike we were catching the head of the race. Then the bike pace was easy, and I didn't want to try anything as it was anyway a great opportunity for me, just save legas for the run. The 10k was tough, I run good but stomachache ruined my possibility to fight with my teammate Kevin for the 9º position, so 11º on finish line and quite happy with it, and again with another victory of Uxío. Finished season, relaxing evening and sunday way to Marrakech to enjoy a day there, a city that worth the visit.

More to come in 2017

Keep dreaming :)

Keep living it ;)
